Some classes require permission to enroll in (add) or drop a class. When you have been granted a permission, you will receive an e-mail notification and the permission will display on the View My Class Permissions page in your Student Center.
If you have been issued a class permission, you are not automatically registered for the class. You must go to the backpack/registration pages and complete the class registration process:
- A. If you are waitlisted for the class, check the class section and class number information to make sure it matches your permission. If it does not match, drop the class from your class schedule and then add the correct class to your backpack.
B. If the class is already in your backpack, check the class section and class number information to make sure it matches your permission. If it does not match, delete it from your backpack and then add the correct class.
C. If the class is not in your backpack, add it by searching on the class number. That is the quickest way to find the right class and section.
Tip: If the class with permission is replacing a class you've already registered for, try the Swap feature. It will add and drop the selected classes at the same time.
- Register for the class.
- Check your Class Schedule. The Class Schedule is the best place to make sure you have successfully registered for classes.
To register for the class after the drop/add deadline, consult with your Advising Office in your academic unit and follow their Late Add procedure in order to process your registration.
If you have permission to drop a class, you must go to the backpack/registration pages and drop the class. After you drop the class, check your class schedule to make sure it no longer displays.
