Help: Late Enrollment Requests

Overview

Not all Schools/Colleges participate in the electronic Late Enrollment process. Consult with your School/College advisor or advising office to determine the appropriate method for submitting your Late Enrollment request.

Requests to drop, add, swap, or edit classes after the standard drop/add period must be approved by your instructor, advisor and/or other staff/offices as determined by your School/College. It is highly recommended you speak to your instructor and advisor about why you are making the Late Enrollment request before submitting the form.

All requests must be submitted before the deadline set by your School/College. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. You should continue attending the class until you receive an email notification of the decision.

Begin the Late Enrollment Request Process

  • Late Drop Requests: From the Student Center, click Backpack/Registration, then click the Drop tab. Select the course and click Drop Selected Classes. On the confirmation screen, verify you selected the correct class and click the Finish Dropping button. If you are eligible to submit the Late Drop request form electronically, a Request for Late Drop button displays. Click the button to access the form. If you are not eligible to submit a request, an error message is displayed.
  • Late Add Requests: From the Student Center, click Backpack/Registration. On the Add tab, add the class to your Backpack following the standard Backpack procedures. Once the class is in your Backpack, select the class, click the Proceed to Step 2 of 3. Verify you have selected the correct class and click the Finish Registering button. If you are eligible to submit the Late Add request form electronically, a Request for Late Add button displays. Click the button to access the form. If you are not eligible to submit a request, an error message is displayed.
  • Late Swap Requests: From the Student Center, click Backpack/Registration. On the Swap tab, select the class from your schedule to be dropped. Select the class to be added as part of the swap, adjust enrollment preferences if necessary, then click the Next button. Confirm your selections and click the Finish Swapping button. If you are eligible to submit a Late Swap request form electronically, a Request for Late Swap button displays. Click the button to access the form. If you are not eligible to submit a request, an error message is displayed.
  • Late Edit Requests: From the Student Center, click Backpack/Registration. On the Edit tab, select the class from your schedule to be edited and click the Proceed to Step 2 of 3 button. Change the grading and/or units as needed, then click the Next button. Please note, some classes do not allow the grading and/or units to be changed. Confirm the edits to your enrollment options and click the Finish Editing button. If you are eligible to submit a Late Edit request form electronically, a Request for Late Edit button displays. Click the button to access the form. If you are not eligible to submit a request, an error message is displayed.

Complete the Request Form Step-by-Step Process

  1. Enter your local telephone number in the specified text entry field.
  2. Answer all questions in the Answer the following questions section.
    • Late Drop only - Indicate the reason for the Late Drop request by clicking the Academic or Personal radio button.
    • Late Add only - Indicate if you wish to override a time conflict, if applicable.
    • Late Edit and Late Swap only - Indicate the reason for the request in the text field.
  3. Click the Submit Request button, then click OK on the confirmation page.
    Note: Confirm you have selected the correct class before submitting your request.

The request is automatically routed to the appropriate individuals for approval. You will receive an email notification when you submit the request and when the final decision is made. You can also track the status of your request from the Student Center using the Late Enrollment Request Status page.
